Our Process

When you record your life story you never know what profound effect it will have on someone in the future. Imagine being that person, finding a recording made long ago and discovering things you would otherwise never have known. The Personal History Center originated the concept of Aspects and Dimensions for capturing life stories. Through this process we go beyond recounting historical information and look at the important factors that influenced a person’s life. This approach is holistic and provides tremendous insight. In our interviews we examine the major perspectives that drive human development and activity. They are a factor in all people to varying degrees. Some have a cultural basis, others are personal and philosophical in nature. During our interview, we explore the influence of these perspectives as they relate to the subject’s life.

Please take time to explore our offerings. Our goal is to push the limits of personal history and to have fun doing it. You will too.
